Meet the People Caring For You
You will not be going through your SBRT treatment alone. Many healthcare professionals work together to plan your treatment, answer your questions, and support you before, during, and after SBRT.
Each member of your treatment team has a specific role and expertise in the field of cancer care to provide you with the best care possible.
Key Members of Your Treatment Team
Radiation Oncologist
Your radiation oncologist is the doctor who plans your SBRT treatment. They will explain your treatment, answer your questions, monitor your progress, and help manage any side effects.
Radiation Therapist
Radiation therapists are the people you will probably see most often. They help position you for each treatment, operate the treatment machine, and make sure your treatment is delivered safely and accurately.
Radiation Oncology Nurse
Radiation oncology nurses provide specialized care and support to patients undergoing radiation therapy. Your radiation oncology nurse helps you manage side effects, answers your questions, provides education, and supports you throughout treatment.
Medical Dosimetrist
Medical dosimetrists work behind the scenes to design a treatment plan that delivers the right amount of radiation to the tumour while protecting healthy tissues.
Medical Physicist
Medical physicists work behind the scenes to make sure your treatment plan and the treatment machines are safe and accurate before every treatment.
Summary
Every member of your treatment team works together to make your treatment as safe, accurate, and comfortable as possible. If you have questions at any time, please let your treatment team know.
